Career and Technical Pathways offers students an authentic learning experience within selected sectors of the economy. Pathways start with a broad – general introductory course and as students progress they can explore certain topics within the sector more deeply. Ultimately if a student pursues a pathway to completion they will take a capstones course that will include job shadowing and possible internship.
Agriscience Pathway
Students in this pathway are able to gain a wide understanding of a variety of agricultural areas and career opportunities. They will have the opportunity to participate in relevant occupational experience and work cooperatively with groups while developing leadership abilities. Students will then study California agriculture, agriculture business and technologies, natural resources, animal, plant, and soil sciences throughout their pathway courses.
Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation Pathway
This pathway allows students to build foundational knowledge and specifics skills to work in the fields of hospitality, tourism and recreation in Plumas County and other beautiful places, with a focus on the growing field of outdoor recreational tourism.
Software Systems & Development Pathway
Students in the Software Systems and Development pathway prepare for careers related to computer science that involve the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and management of systems that rely on software programs to satisfy the operational needs of modern business organizations. Persons with expertise in systems and programming are critical to support operations like electronic commerce, medical records management, retail sale and inventory management, digital entertainment , and use of energy.
