Jerry & Yvonne Kehr Youth Activities Fund

Jerry and Yvonne Kehr, long-term residents of Lake Almanor, left an indelible impact on our community. Yvonne was a beloved 3rd-grade teacher at Chester Elementary. Jerry, retired as a teacher at Chester Elementary. Jerry, retired as a teacher and basketball coach when he moved to Lake Almanor and became an influential real estate broker instrumental in the sales and development of the Lake Almanor West Subdivision and a founding director of Plumas Bank.

What the Kehr Fund Will Support — Starting in 2026

Effective 2026, the Jerry & Yvonne Kehr Education Fund will focus on expanding access to youth sports, the arts, and music for young people across Plumas County. In our rural communities, these opportunities are often hard to come by — and the Kehr Fund wants to help change that.

How You Can Be Part of This New Chapter

The Kehr Fund’s new direction is a celebration — of community, of legacy, and of the young people who are the future of Plumas County. We invite you to be part of this story.

The Kehr Fund’s New Focus Areas

  • Youth Sports & Athletics — Supporting organized sports programs, equipment, and athletic access for young people across Plumas County, honoring Jerry’s lifelong passion for coaching and competition.
  • Arts & Creative Education — Funding visual arts, performing arts, and creative learning opportunities that help young people express themselves and discover their talents.
  • Music Programs — Providing instruments, instruction, and performance opportunities so that every child who wants to play, sing, or create has the chance to do so.
  • Reaching Underserved Youth — Prioritizing grants to schools, youth organizations, and community programs serving rural and under-resourced children and families in our region.

Whether you’re a longtime supporter of the Kehr Fund, a fan of TAF’s new CTE Initiative, or simply someone who believes that every child in our mountains deserves a chance to kick a ball, strum a guitar, or stand on a stage — there is a place for you in this work.
