Career and Technical Pathways offers students an authentic learning experience within selected sectors of the economy. Pathways start with a broad – general introductory course and as students progress they can explore certain topics within the sector more deeply. Ultimately if a student pursues a pathway to completion they will take a capstones course that will include job shadowing and possible internship.

PCS partners with local colleges and industry leaders with the goal of encouraging students to explore and prepare for career options with an emphasis on local industries to allow students to learn about careers they can pursue within their region.
The CTE program is funded by the Strong Workforce Program. PCS also offers early engagement opportunities for seventh and eighth-grade students. The early engagement program’s goal is to create interest and provide students with information about their options before they get to high school.
Why Your Support Matters
Students represent our most promising, locally rooted workforce—they are already housed, already connected to the community, and eager to build their futures here. By investing in their training, certifications, and work‑based learning opportunities, we can build a resilient workforce for Plumas County’s long‑term economic stability.
Each investment and partnership ensures that every student—regardless of school or pathway—has access to educational opportunities right here.
By making it possible for you to fund a specific programor school, we ensure that support reaches the students where they live, while The Almanor Foundation provides the administrative backbone to make it happen.
