HELP MAKE THE ALMANOR RAIL TRAIL A REALITY
Carlos Espana had a dream to establish a continuous recreation corridor around the Lake Almanor Basin and east to the Bizz Johnson Trail in Lassen County. He spent 1000’s of hours to moving the dream forward, piece by piece, section by section. The Trails committee that he established, has worked to healthy, outdoor recreational opportunities for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians.
The purpose of The Carlos Espana Memorial Fund is to raise money for the Almanor Rail Trail that is a 12-mile segment of the Trail Master Plan to create this recreation corridor. The Rail Trail begins in Chester and follows the Collins Pine Rail Trail through the Olsen Barn Meadow, across the Causeway, along Lake Almanor and ending at Clear Creek Junction and Highway 147.
Donated funds will be dedicated to the completion of this trail and ongoing maintenance. Piece by piece, Carlos was making our world a better place. Help us further his dream.
