The Jerry & Yvonne Kehr Education Fund was established in the Fall of 2023 as a memorial to their work with youth in Plumas County. The Kehrs believed that the future lies in our youth and it is our responsibility to nurture and empower the younger generation, which contributes to the health, growth and longevity of the community.

The mission of the Jerry & Yvonne Kehr Education Fund, sponsored by The Almanor Foundation, is to support educational, artistic, and vocational initiatives in Plumas County and provide resources that enhance learning opportunities for students of all ages.

A Survey of Plumas County Industry & Business Needs

To ensure the fund will best serve the needs of the communities of Plumas County, the committee advisors created a survey for business and industry leaders in the county to share their employment needs.

The purpose of the survey is to gather information regarding the most needed skills and training for youth and young adults in the age range of 5 to 25. The data collected will help us develop programs and projects that will contribute to the economic development and prosperity of our communities.

This information will then be used to dictate the strategic direction of the Education Fund’s initiatives. Additionally, it will be used in funding applications to secure financial support from relevant agencies.

Completing the survey takes approximately seven minutes and respondent’s data is treated with strict confidentiality.
